GENERAL INFORMATION.
Brief Summary
Temperament: Loyal, calm, steadfast, independent and proud, (not a dog for beginner as can be stubborn.) Requires full socialization as youngster with obedience training starting right from the beginning, gently and firmly.
Behaviour with Children:Very patient and understanding with children in the family but can easily knock them over accidently due to fairly large size of dog.
Behaviour with other pets Good - if socialized with other animals as a youngster.
Activity Level: Fairly inactive indoors. Requires quite a bit of exercise, large, well fenced back yard would help some energy to be expended.
Watch Dog: Good.
Expected Life Span: Twelve - thirteen years, plus/minus.
Living Environment: Unsuitable for apartment living. Suspicious of strangers, requires at least, a well fenced, secure large back yard.
