USEFUL TIPS for POTENTIAL BUYERS.

A dog is a lifetime commitment.

Below, is a brief summary of a few helpful tips for the potential new puppy purchaser:

(1)After deciding which breed you prefer, learn as much as you can about that breed.

(2)Check with a veterinarian regarding breed genetic health problems, if any.

(3)Visit as many breeders as possible, BEFORE selecting a puppy.

(4)Check again with breeder regarding any breed health problems, ask what actions breeder has taken to safeguard against this.

(5)Many breeds suffer with Hip Dyplasia, eye, skin disorders and elbow problems,to name a few, make sure parents have been certified clear of any breed specific problem.

(6)Make sure you have in writing, a guarantee against any specific breed health issues.

(7)Make sure the puppy you select has been wormed, has had first necessary vaccinations and has been tattooed/microchip with Canadian Kennel Club registered personal individual identification.

(8)Canadian Kennel Club Registration papers are likely not to be available yet if your puppy is just a few weeks old.

(9)In lieu of No: (8) make sure you have written official registered Canadian Kennel Club name and number for both the sire and dam, and litter registration number for the litter the pup itself was part of.

(10)Check the breeder will be there for you any time you need assistance with your puppy AFTER purchase.

<11)Make sure you have a GENUINE problem before worrying the breeder unnecessarily.

(12)Remember a puppy is NOT a toy and should NOT be left UNSUPERVISED with young children at any time.

REMEMBER Any dog is by nature a "pack" animal, it requires constant companionship and needs to be an intricate part of a human family and does not deserve to be chained up and left outside for any length of time.

PLEASE NOTE: MAKE SURE AND CONFIRM THAT WHENEVER THE ABBREVIATION OF "C.K.C." IS USED, IT STANDS FOR THE CANADIAN KENNEL CLUB AND NOT SOME OTHER ORGANIZATION.
