APPEARANCE - BEAGLE
Brief Summary
Head: Skull should be fairly long, slightly domed at occiput.
Ears: Set moderately low, long, when pulled out to almost reach end of nose.
Eyes: Large, set well apart, soft and gentle expression, brown or hazel in colour.
Muzzle: Medium length - straight and square cut, the stop moderately defined.
Neck/Throat: Neck rising free and light from shoulders, strong in substance, not heavy, of medium length.
Throat clean and free from folds of skin, slight wrinkle below angle of jaw may be allowed.
Shoulders and Chest: Sloping, clean, muscular, not heavy or loaded, giving freedom of action. Chest
deep and broad, but not broad enough to interfere with the free movement of shoulders.
Back, Loin and Ribs: Back, short, muscular and strong. Loin broad and slightly arched. Ribs, well
sprung, giving abundance of lung room.
Forelegs and Feet: .Straight with plenty of bone. Pasterns short and straight. Feet, closed, round and firm.
Tail: Set moderately high, carried gaily. Not turned forward over the back with slight curve.
Coat: A close, hard, hound coat of medium length.
Colour: Any true hound colour.
