GROOMING.....BORZOI
Brief summary
The Borzoi sheds his thick undercoat in the spring, followed by a minor shedding each Fall.
During the shedding period, a daily brushing prevents matting.
During the remainder of the year, a brushing two or three times weekly should be carried out.
Special attention should be paid to the feathering.
Brushing feathering time each day is about five minutes, this prevents any tangles or matting causing problems later on.
This breed seems to be more prone to tarter than other breeds, so their gums and teeth should be brushed to prevent gum and tooth problems.
Inside of ears should be checked regularly and kept clean.
Eyes should be kept clean.
Depending on individual dog, nails should be kept short and require clipping approx. every 4 - 6 weeks.
