The Chesapeake Bay Retriever is a fair sized dog, a loyal and loving addition to the family and an extremely good waterfowl hunter. He has the extraordinary ability to remember exactly where each bird is and will retrieve each and every one efficiently.

On the hunt they are hard and willing workers and have been known to retrieve over 300 birds per day. They can tolerate being in icy water for hours on end and enjoy retrieving anything you throw for them, whether it be a ball, a stick or stones.

They are a sturdy good all-round dog for the family and a good companion on a hunt.
