This variety sheds a lot and daily special care should be taken during this time to remove all mats and tangles.

Normally the rough Collie coat sheds dirt easily.

During non-shedding period, dog should receive at least one very good brushing a week.

Check inside of ears and keep clean.

Regularly inspect eyes to make sure they are clean and healthy.

Keep an eye on teeth, keep clean to ensure no tartar build up.

Depending on dog, keep nails short and clip every 4 - 6 weeks approx.

SHORT

Minimal grooming required.

A daily brushing will keep the coat healthy and clean.

All other grooming requirements, the same as the Rough variety above.
