Temperament: Gentle, affectionate, tolerant and sensitive.

Behaviour with Children: Very good - needs to be supervised with small children because due to their size, can easily knock small child over, also when tail wags, can be level with smaller child's face so that child is whipped accidently by tail across the face.

Behaviour with other pets: If dog is used to other pets, normally all is well. If not used to other pets, supervision is recommended.

Expected life span: 6 - 11 years plus/minus.

Living Environment: Fenced backyard required. Great Danes are indoor dogs not outdoor dogs. They are always ready for a walk and enjoy it.
