Temperament:Cheerful, happy, loving and a bit willful,

Behaviour with Children:On the whole good with children, but not very young ones as the dog is so full of energy, can accidently knock child over.

Behaviour with other Pets:Sometimes combative with other dogs. Has strong prey instinct and not to be trusted with non-canine animals.

Activity Level: These dogs are passionate working dogs and have plenty of stamina and can be used for just about any type of hunting.

Obedience Level: Eager to please and can be motivated by rewards. Strong discipline not recommended. Can be rambunctious.

Watch Dog: Naturally protective.

Expected Life Span: 9 - 11 years plus or minus.

Living Environment: Interestingly enough, comparatively inactive indoors but they do need a good amount of exercise each day.Because this breed is so energetic it requires gentle obedience training as early as possible, requires socializing as much as possible as a youngster. Needs to be close to and live and share with its humane family and not left on its own for any period of time. Very affectionate to owner.
