Behaviour with Children: Very good as a rule.

With other Pets: Good.

Activity Level:Quite high.

Obedience Ability: Start training when young, firmly, fairly and gently and be persistent. Sometimes difficult to train because of high energy or self independence. Their weakness: sensitive and wanting to please.

Life span: Approx. 10 - 14 years plus or minus.

Living Environment: Unsuitable for apartment - best suited to country life with space to run. Has high activity requires plenty of daily exercise.

G R O O M I N G

Daily brushing required and combing will keep coat in good condition.

Check daily for tangles and anything caught in coat.

Extra brushing and combing required during shedding period.

This breed is a normal shedder.

Bathe or dry shampoo only if absolutely necessary.

Check eyes, make sure no tearing and are clean and bright.

Depending on individual, nails require trimming approx. every 6 - 8 weeks.
