Brief Summary
Temperament: Affectionate, responsive, loving, alert Behaviour with children:Very good with older children - good with younger children but can get a bit 'pushy' with their affection. Behaviour with other pets Good. Activity Level: Moderate to High. Learning Ability: Very High. Obedience Ability: Good - Very good. Expected Life Span: 10 - 12 years plus/minus. Living Environment: Whether living in city or in the country, requires a fenced back yard. Will adapt well to restricted living space providing exercised well daily.Not really suited for apartment living as is a fairly active breed, nor really suited for the elderly, as a daily robust workout exercise is necessary for this breed. Watch dog ability: Medium. Guard dog ability: Low. GROOMING This breed sheds its coat quite a lot Requires brushing with firm bristle brush or comb on a daily basis during shedding time. When not shedding, a good brush once weekly should be sufficient. Can be bathed if and when required. Check inside of ears regularly, keep clean. Nails should be kept short, depending on breed, clip once every 4 - 6 weeks. |
